Greetings! I’m Audrey – the founder of Waggit. A little about me:
I stare at cute dogs when crossing the street. I’m THAT girl.
My favorite ice cream flavor is plain Vanilla.
I love to eat noodles – all kinds of noodles.
When I’m not paying attention, sometimes my Chicago accent comes out. “Cream and sugar in your caafee?”
If I were a dog, I’d be a King Charles Cavalier.
A lot of people ask me, how did you come up with the idea for Waggit? It all started on a lazy Sunday afternoon riding the downtown 6 train. My friend Paula asked our group of friends, “Know anyone that could watch my cat over Thanksgiving?”
Usually, one of us would volunteer or at least come up with a few recommendations on what to do, but this time, all of us were speechless. None of us could help her. Poor Paula.
That got me thinking - wouldn’t it be great if there was a website to find trustworthy people that are more than happy to pet sit for you?
DING! Inception.
A few months later, I quit my job, put down some roots in New York, and fulfilled my dream of having a business to call my own. Starting my own company has been exhilarating and scary at the same time, but I can’t think of anything else I’d rather be doing.
On top of dogs, Waggit’s passion is community. We want to bring out the best in our members by creating an environment of trust, friendship and generosity. Meetups, lemonade, dogs chasing each other, people helping each other, that’s our utopia. Dogs make people happy, so lets come together and make them happy. Click around our site, read the blog and if you’re inspired, join the Waggit community.
